First day of school

Just completed my first day of school at Lycee Samuel Beckett ....
*I'm sighing deeply rn *
No, no, it was good, for the most part. It vaugly reminded me of your everyday North American high school; Sleep deprived kids, cranky teachers, you know, the usual.
In only my first day of this madness, I have already made a list of significant things to note about the atmosphere of French School;
1) Your coat is part of your outfit. When you don't have a locker and its winter, you do not carry your coat around the school, you wear it all day. Take it off in class, put it on after, walk to your next class, take it off, etc.
2) You have to wait until the teacher lets you sit down to sit down (And at the very end of the day they have to dismiss you from your seats, I learned a lesson too late)
3) Almost everyone has at least one piercing (neither gender excluded)
4) When you have breaks between classes, you go outside. It does not matter if you're smoking, or already freezing, you walk out of the doors and out of the gate and you stand in the street for ten minutes, no questions asked.
5) The shoes make the outfit.
6) When you lose your train of thought, or do not know what to say, you say, "Ah, la la la la (repeat as the many times as you want, I have not yet heard a limit)
7) When you're try trying to prove point start with 'Mais, oui. "(In the debate during french class, I heard it at least 40 times in a half of an hour.)
8) By the way, They examine poetry in History? so?
** Bonus **
Boys: The Higher your hair is, the 'cooler' you are. (No joke, There were some serious 80's throwbacks with the guys. No mullets, more like the women's style, with the sides shaved off and everything gelled up.)
Anyway, It was an exhausting 10 hours, and I'm grateful for good food and my bed. I will update soon :)
